Woman shows off incredible 140kg weight loss
A woman has shown off her incredible 140kgs weight loss after a simple New Year’s resolution turned into a life changing decision.
Two years ago, Lexi Reed tipped the scales at a staggering 219kg, she was wearing a size 28 clothes and says she was a “prisoner” in her own body.
Lexi married her husband Danny, who weighed 130kg, in 2015 and the pair were eating 8,000 calories a day.
But a New Year’s resolution has seen them shed half their combined weight in just 12 months, with Lexi sharing this week she’s now lost over 140kg.
“When I was 219kg I was always tired, out of breath, and wanted to take a nap or sleep all day,” Lexi tells Be. “Now, I’m always awake early, full or energy, positive, and ready to take on the day.”
“I was fed up with being a prisoner in my own body and at 25 years old – I knew I had to fight for my life,” she wrote on her Instagram Fatgirlfedup, where she’s been sharing her journey with her 450,000 followers.
“I didn’t have the funds for a personal trainer, meal plan, surgery, and I knew I had to find a lifestyle that I could stick too.”

Lexi says that along with her husband they started counting calories, going to the gym to do cardio five times a week, switched soft drinks for water, learned how to cook and started meal prepping.
But for her the hardest thing was changing her relationship towards food.
“I never cooked,” she says. “My husband and I would go out to eat for almost every single meal and if we did cook at home it was frozen pizza or anything else unhealthy.
“We found that by meal prepping instead of relying on fast food we were able to stick with our goals when we were at work and by learning to cook our own meals we were in charge of what we were eating.”
The couple also stopped spending too much time in front of the TV and started to focused on their future.
“We wanted to be parents in the future and live a longer life together,” she wrote online.
Now a size 10, Lexi goes on to talk about how much losing weight together has also strengthened her relationship with Danny, who lost 35kg.
“At the end of the day losing weight is hard no matter what and you have to be willing to change yourself before it will happen,” she tells us. “Losing weight however is even harder when the person you love doesn’t support you.”
She says they have not only lost the weight but also have grown closer together.
“This man has been by my side for the last 10 years and treated me no different at 485lbs than he does at 182lbs. We all deserve to live a life we are in love with and have people around that make it worth living,” she wrote.
