Music Theory – Score Analysis

  • Zip

Five Score Analysis Quizzes designed for short review in preparation for the AP exam, taken from real literature by Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven.

They cover a wide variety of concepts covered throughout the course. The exact wording on many questions has been taken exactly from released tests. The tests have been provided in both pdf form (no worries about formatting!) and word doc form (you can edit them easily to suit your needs). Use these materials as a group review activity or as a take home “quiz.” I recommend you use them in conjunction with other sight singing, listening, and free response assessment materials in the final classes before the AP test.

Topics include:

– Meter

– Key signatures

– Intervals

– Harmonic analysis

– Compositional techniques

Included are optional computer-generated listening files. The questions can be answered 100% without the accompanying listening tracks, but you have the option of using them if you would like to incorporate listening in your activities. The opus numbers have been listed on the quizzes so that you may use better quality live recordings from YouTube as well!

This resource and more are all contained in my AP Music Theory MEGA Bundle. Check it out!
