First Friday | June 2
PROJECT 24/SEVEN is an artist-led initiative showcasing the creativity of visual artists living & working at the Tannery Artist Lofts. Designed to explore opportunities for collaboration, exhibition & connection, the first show in the series features artworks from nine female artists. The work will be on display in Radius Gallery Annex & the Arts Council Santa Cruz County offices for the months of June & July 2023.

5-9pm – Local illustration and tattoo artist Danny Fernandez will be joining us at Studio 105. Danny works in pen and ink illustrating gorgeous portrayals of nature, women and skulls. Also featuring Amanda Hess (EV&NO) with her new “Ground Down” collection of fine jewelry work.

Everyone’s Music School – Studio 101
CORNER CACOPHONY is a series of performing arts installations featuring youth & adult musicians hosted by Everyone’s Music School.
JUNE MUSICIANS: DJ JAX – influenced & inspired by the vibrant house music tradition, Jaxon is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for piano & trumpet, and a member of the SLV junior high school band. During the pandemic, Jaxon found joy in deejaying & became motivated to share his love of music first through IG lives, & then, as the social & community health climates allowed, at in-person gatherings.
SANDRA j – a soulful & distinguished R&B/Hip Hop artist, Sandra is also a recent Masters’s degree graduate (congratulations!). A powerful vocalist, rapper, & multi-instrumentalist, Sandra J. (aka Shamma Mama) bestows on the audience conscious lyrical verses & light-hearted, uplifting tracks.
This artist-led project is crafted with the intention of fostering environments where creatives can cultivate sustainable networks & ignite access to fair & inclusive opportunities for artistic expression, development & advancement.

5-8pm – The San Jose State University 22/23 MFA cohort will be exhibiting artworks from 13 graduate student artists in this year’s annual “LiftOff” show at Radius Gallery. The show features artwork in a variety of theory based themes and mediums including photography, spatial art, pictorial and digital media.

4:30-9pm – Carol Eddy is featuring her latest travel sketches, “Carnets de Voyage: Paris 2023” with drawings and watercolor paintings done on-site in April and May.

Explore Public Art
Discover more than a dozen public art pieces installed at the Tannery Arts Center. The project, “A Home for the Arts” was designed post pandemic to reconnect the community, create paid opportunities for artists, ignite social interaction and act as a catalyst for a sense of cohesion, identity, belonging and shared experiences. Pick up a map on campus and freely explore this series of engaging public art installations.

Opportunity to establish a creative hub at the heart of the Tannery Arts Center, a unique arts community situated on eight acres in the City of Santa Cruz.
The Tannery Arts Center is home to 100 live/work lofts, 28 artist studios, Colligan Theatre, Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center, Radius Gallery, and the North County offices of Arts Council Santa Cruz County. The available café space is + 760 SF + patio, with possible future use of the adjoining studio (1621 SF). Lease terms are one year with the potential to extend. Space will be leased at current market rate.
