## Digits of Pi Border 1

Time to get started on the border panels! This first one is the digits of pi that probably everyone can recite. I remember learning a rhyme or limerick to learn the first few digits of pi. I can even hear the cadence in my head: “Three point one four one five nine!” which ended the rhyme, but I cannot remember the beginning lines. It’s killing me! But, I guess the rhyme at least did it’s job. I still remember those digits of pi!

Just for fun I did a Google search for pi limericks and found some fun ones at mathstory.com.

One of my favorites is #32, the last one on the list. Here it is:

I don’t wanna’ cause a big scene,

But way back in 2015,
Pi’s calendar date,
Was mathematically great,
5 digits of pi you could glean…
(Pi Day was 3/14/15 = 3.1415)

Got to love that 2015 is said to be “way back!” Ha!

If you know other great pi limericks, please share them with us in the Comments section. I love clever math puns and rhymes!

Don’t forget to check out the full Fruit Pi C2C Crochet Afghan PDF pattern available in my Etsy shop. It includes 8 fruit pi blocks—apple, lemon, strawberry, pumpkin, peach, pear, plum, and cherry—as well as 8 alternate pi blocks. Each block has a printable chart and printable line-by-line instructions. That’s 16 Fruit Pi blocks and 4 Digits of Pi border panels for one low price!

## Digits of Pi Border Panel Instructions

This first Digits of Pi C2C crochet border panel extends across the top of the afghan. It is a long one so let’s get crocheting! You’ll just need two colors for the border strips. For ease in reading it, the chart is 3 pages, with 3 rows of overlap between them.
