Product Description
AP Music Theory – Voice Leading Test Pack. Scaffolded assessment of voice leading / figured bass in the format of AP Music Theory Exam free response questions 5 & 6!
Each test features two prompts – one in a major key and one in a minor key.
Both roman numeral and figured bass line prompts are included. The tests include perfect authentic cadences, imperfect authentic cadences, and half cadences. There are two tests for each topic below. The alternate test may be used as a “redo” for students who need a second chance, or they can be used as practice assignments.
The grading rubric is slightly more generous than AP grading standards. I found that their grading percentages do not translate into a letter grade that makes sense. For example, an AP score of 3 should translate to a test grade of C, but it doesn’t when percentages are used. This grading rubric translates to a more fair and logical grade.
Test 1A & 1B: Primary Chords in Root Position
Test 2A & 2B: Cadential Tonic Six-Four Chord
Test 3A & 3B: Primary Chords in Inversion
Test 4A & 4B: Supertonic Triad
Test 5A & 5B: Dominant Seventh Chords in Inversion
Test 6A & 6B: Leading Tone Triad
Test 7A & 7B: More Seventh Chords in Inversion
Test 8A: Borrowed Chords
15 pages. (Due to the infinite possibilities of correct voiceleading responses, no answer key has been provided.)
